Recognizing Distinguished Leadership at Dailey Elementary
Beecher Community School District formally recognizes Ms. Debbie Harris, Parent Liaison at Dailey Elementary School (BCSD) for her exemplary leadership in developing and leading Grandparents and Grandfriends Day—a distinctive event proudly hosted only at Dailey Elementary. Mrs. Harris envisioned this initiative as an opportunity to honor grandparents and grandfriends as valued supporters of student success, broadening family engagement beyond traditional mother- and father-focused events.
Through purposeful planning, the event fostered meaningful intergenerational connections that promote wisdom, engagement, and a sense of belonging for students and families alike. The strong attendance, wonderful food, and community participation reflected the positive impact of Mrs. Harris’s efforts to include all family members, including “grandfriends” when grandparents were unavailable. Her leadership continues to strengthen school–community partnerships, and her vision for future growth—including expanded student involvement and a potential full-day experience—demonstrates her ongoing commitment to inclusive, family‑centered programming.
