Dailey Elementary M‑STEP Testing Schedule

Spring State Assessments

M‑STEP stands for Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress.
These statewide assessments measure how well students are learning Michigan academic standards in English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Results help teachers and schools support student growth and achievement.

• M‑STEP testing concludes May 15 for all required grade‑level assessments

• Scheduled make‑up testing will occur Monday–Friday in the afternoons as needed (M‑STEP & i‑Ready)

• 5th Grade i‑Ready testing dates are TBD
  
  ✅ How Families Can Help Students Prepare
  📘 Before Testing
  
  Encourage your child to do their best and stay positive.
  Talk about testing as a way to show what they know.
  Practice nightly reading, math facts, and explaining answers aloud.
  Make sure students arrive on time on testing days.
  
  🌙 The Night Before Testing
  
  Ensure 8–10 hours of sleep.
  Limit screen time before bedtime.
  Lay out clothes and pack backpacks the night before to reduce stress.
  
  🍎 Morning of Testing
  
  Provide a healthy breakfast that includes:
  
  Protein (eggs, yogurt, peanut butter)
  Whole grains (oatmeal, toast)
  Fruits and/or vegetables
  
  
  Avoid sugary foods and drinks that may cause energy crashes.
